Information & Policies

All guests will receive emails and texts regarding their reservation starting the day before arrival.  Please ensure you have provided the correct email and phone number in order to contact you regarding your stay. Watch your emails and texts for all information from our reservation system called Cloudbeds and the Courtyard Country Inn.


Please remember we are in a small mountain town and a small mom and pop owned property.  Our dedicated team is committed to making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and strives to keep bringing you back to our beautiful town and property. There are real people at the other end of the texts. For the fastest response, please text us at (719)458-9663 and we will respond to you as soon as possible.  


What We Don't Have:  

We do not have a Reception Office nor do we require an in-person check-in.  The property has been improved for comfortable self service. We maintain daily housekeeping staff and are available by phone or text 24/7.  We have done well to think of anything you might need, but are happy to accommodate additional items if they are available. Please message us via the text chats or emails if we may make your stay more comfortable.     


We do not have air conditioners. No AC? No problem. Seriously.

We know what you're thinking-"No air conditioning?? What is this, 1920?" But trust us on this one. Your new owners are from Texas, so we have cool comfort in mind. Thanks to our cool mountain breezes and several fans, the rooms stay naturally comfortable-even in the summer. (We see you Lone Star friends. We have fans in every room just in case you need that extra breeze or white noise.) At 8,000 ft. elevation, air conditioners are rarely needed, and frankly, Mother Nature does a great job. Most guests are surprised (and delighted) by how cool and comfortable their stay is without an AC. So don't let the lack of AC steer you away. The inn has operated without AC from day 1 and we are always highly conscientious of guest comfort.


We do not have a large ice machine on the property. We have a small ice machine we place outside during the summer months.  Please use the mini fridges available in every room to cool drinks, food, or medicine, but please bring a cooler and purchase a bag of ice prior to your arrival if you require large quantities of ice. Our minifridges have small freezers too!  We are working diligently to begin providing amenities that have not been provided for the last 20 years and hope we can have a large ice machine in the coming years.


Rooms 6, 7, and 8 have small 20" Smart TVs. Even us tech savvy new owners have had trouble operating them despite detailed instructions left by the previous owner.  We are working on a solution to provide better in room entertainment options for your relaxing trip to Westcliffe (because sometimes you just want to veg out and watch TV).  The TVs offer apps that you can log into with your own logins and a few FREE app options like VUDU, ROKU Channel, ABC News and CBS News. If there are TV issues, be prepared to have to talk to the person you are traveling with, going outside and enjoying our courtyard, or even reading a book/magazine.  We hope to find a better solution to in room entertainment very soon. 


What We Do Have:  


Our rooms are equipped with essential amenities including microwaves, minifridges with freezers, hairdryers, and coffeemakers, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay.  


Our coffeemakers are Farberware individual cup coffeemakers that brew Keurig Cups (K-cups).  We provide a coffee station with regular and decaf coffee pods, creamers, sugar and sugar substitutes, hot chocolate, and apple cider packets. There is one coffee station refill each day of your stay and additional coffee station refills are $5 each. 


We use fragrance free and dye free laundry products. 


Rooms 1-5 and the apartment have larger 40" Smart TVs. 


High Speed Wifi. Please note that outages are beyond our control and refunds or discounts will not be issued due to down wifi. It is rare, but outages have happened before.


We understand that life happens and plans change.  We believe we have a very reasonable cancelation policy that we strictly adhere to.  


No charge if canceled 7 days or more prior to scheduled date of arrival.

Partial Charge - 25% of Full Stay - If canceled within 2-7 days of arrival date.

Full Charge – 100% of Full Stay - If canceled within 48 hours of check-in time of arrival date.


The way we deliver housekeeping service is evolving.  


We offer full housekeeping services if you have booked a stay longer than 4 nights.  In lieu of daily full housekeeping services, we provide daily refresh services.  Regardless of the duration of your stay, you can always send a text to our chat by 11am to request a full housekeeping service.  You can chat with us in the same text chat that will be started the day before you check-in.


Doggie Decorum Policy:  We absolutely adore our four-legged friends, and we welcome well-behaved dogs to stay with their humans at our cozy inn. However, we regret to inform you that we are unable to accommodate cats or other types of animals at this time. We kindly ask for your understanding in this matter.


To ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience for all our guests, we have a few guidelines in place regarding dogs:


  1. Pet Fee: There is a nonrefundable pet fee of $30 per stay and only in specified rooms. This fee helps us maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of our premises.
  2. Pet-Friendly Rooms: Dogs weighing under 55 pounds are allowed in our specially designated pet-friendly rooms, namely Room #1 and Room #6.  These rooms are thoughtfully prepared to accommodate your furry companions, providing them with a comfortable and enjoyable stay.  
  3. Leash Requirement: For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, we kindly ask that all dogs be kept on a leash at all times when not inside a room. This policy ensures a secure environment for both our canine guests and fellow visitors.
  4. Clean-up Responsibility: As responsible pet owners, it's essential to clean up after our furry friends. We kindly request that you promptly clean up after your dog's messes to maintain a clean and inviting atmosphere for all our guests. Waste disposal stations are conveniently located throughout the premises for your convenience. Please step outside of the courtyard for pets to go potty.
  5. Damage and Cleaning Fees: While we trust that your dog will be well-behaved, any damages caused by your pet will be the responsibility of the pet owner. Additionally, failure to clean up after your dog may result in additional cleaning fees. We kindly ask that you respect our property and fellow guests by ensuring your pet's behavior and cleanliness.
  6. Unfortunately, certain breeds of dogs are not allowed due to insurance reasons. We love all dogs, but have to live with rules we don't agree with sometimes. Please be courteous if we cannot accommodate your furbaby.
  7. Excessive barking = Excess Baggage.  If your furry friend turns into a canine karaoke machine at all hours, we may have to ask them to take the show on the road. We love dogs, but we also love sleep, serenity, and not hearing the word "woof" 87 times before breakfast. A few woofs now and then, totally fine! Nonstop barking, it's probably too much and we reserve the right to ask them (and their humans) to cut their stay short.  


By adhering to these policies, we can ensure a pleasant and enjoyable stay for both you and your furry friend. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a welcoming and harmonious environment for all of our guests.

We are still a bit old school and use real keys for our rooms. You will notice a beautiful leather keychain, handmade by a long-time friend of the innkeeper. These were made in hopes of making it a bit easier to keep track of your room key. In cases of lost keys, we charge a $50 lost key fee for time and materials to replace the lost key and keychain. Some people love it so much, they take it with them!  They will be charged the $50 "lost key" fee. If returned, we will refund $40 dollars to help cover our transaction fees charged to us for the charges and refunds. I know, so many fees, we hate them too. 

Please take care to secure your key at all times, but especially when hiking, exploring, or night sky gazing as these are the most common activities when keys are lost.


Check-in is at 3:00pm Westcliffe time.

Check-out is at 11:00am Westcliffe time.

EARLY CHECK-IN?

Please contact us for availability of early check-in. Early check-ins before 3:00pm and after 12:30pm is $50.  Early check-in before 12:30pm is a full night charge and the night before will be reserved for you.

LATE CHECKOUT?

Please contact us for availability of late check out. Checkouts after 12:00pm and before 2:00pm is $50.  Checkouts after 2:00pm is an additional night charge plus any convenience fees if additional reservations are impacted by your late check out.


The Courtyard Country Inn in Westcliffe, CO is proud to offer onsite electric vehicle charging facilities, catering to the needs of environmentally conscious travelers. Visitors can conveniently recharge their electric vehicles while enjoying the serene ambiance of our beautiful courtyard. 


Level 2 Rivian chargers are available and can be compatible with other EVs, but please refer to your vehicle apps and manuals to confirm compatibility. EV chargers cost are as follows:

Service Fee: $5.00

Per kWh: $.25

Idle Fee: FREE


Located centrally in Westcliffe, our inn provides a perfect base for exploring the scenic surroundings while ensuring a sustainable and enjoyable stay for our guests. 


Lockouts happen. Especially since we still have lock and key doors. Please be aware that a lockout may take up to 30 minutes to resolve, depending on the time of day of the lockout. We typically have staff minutes away, but on rare occasions, it may take longer to get someone to you. Please try to remember your key when in and out of your room.


We prioritize delivering exceptional value and service to our customers. To maintain our commitment to fairness and transparency, we have implemented a strict policy of no discounts. This means that we do not offer senior citizen discounts, AAA discounts, or any other form of price reduction. Our rates are determined by the cost to provide you all of the comforts, amenities, and beautiful common spaces in a rural community of Colorado. Special promotions will be listed on our website and social media accounts.
